U2 Goes Busking in NYC… And No One Recognizes Them

U2 surprised a group of New Yorkers on Friday with a spontaneous concert in the 42nd Street subway station, but not before going under cover as buskers performing a stripped down version of “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”

The short song concert was filmed for Friday night’s episode of The Tonight Show.

As passer-bys ignored the busking musicians, Jimmy Fallon called for “Plan B” and the band removed their disguises, to everyone’s surprise, and began playing their hit, “Desire.”

The band later performed “Song For Someone,” (from Songs of Innocence), “Beautiful Day” and “Angel of Harlem” in studio.

Also featured in the episode was this sketch, in which Bono got back on a bike for the first time since his accident.

U2 had to cancel their Tonight Show residency in November following Bono’s bike accident, prompting Fallon to fill in for Bono with one of his stellar impressions.
