Paramount Pictures has released a new set of photos from the upcoming Elton John film, Rocketman. The photos, which follow the release of a teaser trailer in October, show actor Taron Egerton (Robin Hood, Sing) as Elton John in full 1970s styling. See the three new photos below.
In theatres May 31st, Rocketman is described as an “epic musical fantasy” more than a biopic, and promises to give the “uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years.”
In addition to Egerton, the film stars Jamie Bell as John’s lyricist Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as John’s manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as John’s mother.
Rocketman was directed by Dexter Fletcher, who took over directing the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody part way through filming when Bryan Singer was fired.
Elton John is listed as an executive producer on the film and his husband, David Furnish, is listed as a producer.
