Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry, Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay will stage a partial reunion at Friday’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The group hasn’t performed together since 2011.
Synth player Brian Eno and and drummer Paul Thompson will be noticeably missing from the reunion “due to prior commitments,” according to a press release. Instead, Ferry, Manzanera and Mackay will be joined by musicians who have performed with either Roxy Music or Brian Ferry in the past.
Despite going through a number of lineup changes throughout their career, only select members of the band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year: Ferry, Eno, Manzanera, Thompson, Eddie Jobson, and the late Graham Simpson
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place March 29th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The show ill also air on HBO on April 27th.
Earlier this year, Ferry announced a North American tour celebrating Avalon, Roxy Music’s final album, released in 1982. The 18-show run kicks off July 30th. Click here for a list of dates.
