Almost half a century after James Taylor released his debut album, Sweet Baby James, the legendary singer-songwriter has reached the top of the charts with his latest release.
Before This World, Taylor’s compilation album, currently sits at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, after its June 16th release.
It took 45 years for Taylor to reach that position – the 2nd longest an artist has had to wait for a chart-topping album. Tony Bennett got his first #1 album 54 years after his debut release. Black Sabbath waited a little less time, at 43 years.
