New Orleans R&B legend Allen Toussaint died Monday, prompting an outpouring of admiration and respect from the various musicians who worked with the esteemed songwriter, producer and arranger through the years.

Allen Toussaint suffered two cardiac arrests in his hotel room in Madrid this past Monday after performing at Teatro Lara. He was 77.
