Bryan Adams will be honored in his home country next month during the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Awards.
Adams will be presented with the Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award in recognition of his humanitarian efforts including his involvement in and support of Live Aid, Live 8, Amnesty International, PETA and Greenpeace, among others.
“Bryan’s body of work – as a songwriter, composer, musician, recording artist, performer, and photographer –has touched millions of live around the world,” said Gary Slight in a statement. “Add to that the countless number of causes and disadvantaged struggling around the world that his foundation has directly supported, protected and enriched – it’s remarkable. My father and I could be more proud of Bryan’s benevolence, and it is our privilege to honor him with this year’s Allan Sleight Humanitarian Spirit Award.”
The Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Awards take place Thursday, May 7th in Toronto.
