Eagle Rock Entertainment has just announced the release of the Gary Moore CD, DVD & Blu-ray titled Blues For Jimi. Due out September 25th, this release was recorded at the London Hippodrome on October 25, 2007 as part of the launch of the Jimi Hendrix “Live At Monterey” program.

The concert featured Moore performing numerous Hendrix classics including “Purple Haze”, “Foxy Lady”, “The Wind Cries Mary” and “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”. Then, at the end of the evening, Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox of the Jimi Hendrix Experience joined Moore on stage to perform three songs – “Red House”, “Stone Free” and “Hey Joe”.

Moore and Mitchell have since both passed away, which makes the recording of this incredible concert so momentous. Moore is considered one of the most talented guitarists of all-time and one of the few who could truly pay homage Hendrix’s distinctive and groundbreaking style.
