A 1962 Rickenbacker guitar that once belonged to George Harrison will go up for auction in New York this week.

The Rickenbacker 425 was purchased by Harrison in 1963 in Mount Vernon, IL and although it was originally a Fireglo red, the Beatle had it refinished in black to match John Lennon’s Rickenbacker.

According to Julien’s Auctions, the guitar is expected to bring up to $600,000 when it hits the auction block on Saturday at the Hard Rock Cafe in Manhattan.

Also going up for auction is a “Beatles ’65” album signed by all four Beatles – expected to bring up to $300,000 – and a Jimi Hendrix Sears Silvertone guitar – expected to bring up to $100,000.
