Gregg Allman Movie Shut Down After Crew Member Killed

Production of the Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider has been shut down after a train accident killed one crew member and injured seven others last week.

According to investigators on the case, the crew was filming on a set of train tracks in Savannah, GA without the railroad’s permission. A mattress had reportedly been placed on the tracks when the train collided.

Midnight Rider is based on Allman’s autobiography My Cross to Bear and had cast William Hurt and Tyson Ritter in the roles of the older and younger Allman, respectively.

No word yet as to whether or not production on the film will resume in the future.
