If you want to see the final tour dates for Jeff Lynne’s ELO, tickets are available NOW! The band have announced their final tour, called “The Over and Out Tour” which will be a 27-date excursion kicking off in Palm Desert, CA on August 24th.
No international dates have been announced yet, but it is anticipated that the group will tour Europe and possibly other territories following the North American shows.
ELO — originally named the Electric Light Orchestra — was formed in 1972 by singers/multi-instrumentalists Lynne and Roy Wood and drummer Bev Bevan from the ashes of legendary rockers the Move, with the intention of fusing rock music with classical instruments. Wood left after one album and Jeff Lynne assumed leadership of the group — taking on lead singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist roles — which went on to score such massive hits through the ‘70s as “Evil Woman,” “Strange Magic,” “Living Thing,” “Can’t Get It Out of My Head,” “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Telephone Line,” “Don’t Bring Me Down” and more.
The group officially broke-up in 1986 and Lynne moved on to a solo career that included production work with George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Bryan Adams and the Beatles on their “Anthology” series. Lynne was also a “card holding member” of the 1980’s all-star Traveling Wilburys.
