Variety reports that Paramount Pictures has acquired the rights to the biography Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock ‘N’ Roll and that Leonardo DiCarpio will both produce and star in the film.
Mick Jagger is also reportedly on board as a producer.
Sam Phillips was the founder of Sun Studio and Sun Records in Memphis, TN and discovered and helped launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash among others.
