Neil Young to be Honored During Grammy Week

Neil Young will be honored during Grammy Week next week for his commitment to excellence and ongoing support for the craft of recorded music.

The event will take place January 21st at the Village Studios in West Los Angeles and will be attended by GRAMMY winners including T Bone Burnett, Rick Rubin, Kris Kristofferson, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Ann and Nancy Wilson, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith, among others.

“This year, it is with great honor that we pay tribute to a musical icon who has been tireless in his own efforts to draw attention to the importance of hearing music as the artists who created it intended, and who has continually set precedents of excellence within the music community,” Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow said in a statement.

Past honorees include Burnett, Chris Blackwell, Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun, Jimmy Iovine, Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin, Al Schmitt, and Jerry Wexler.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards take place Sunday January 26th and air live on CBS at 8pm ET.
