A new album from Dr. John is due to be released this September. The eclectic singer-songwriter, Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee had been working on the project when he passed in June of 2019.
Things Happen That Way features new songs as well as a number of covers including “Gimme That Old Time Religion” (featuring a guest performance by Willie Nelson), The Travelling Wilburys’ “End of the Line” (featuring Aaron Neville) and Hank Williams’ “Ramblin’ Man,” among others.
It also features a new version of Dr. John’s own “I Walk on Guilded Splinters” featuring Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, which can be heard in the player below.
