Twisted Sister Documentary Due Out This Summer

we-are-twisted-fucking-sister-filmWe Are Twisted F***ing Sister, a documentary by filmmaker Andrew Horn that tells the story of Twisted Sister’s early days, has been acquired by Music Box Films and is set for release this coming August.

The film focuses on the 10-year period leading up to 1983, when Twisted Sister got their big break became one of the biggest heavy metal bands of the 80s.

“Andrew Horn has delivered a quintessential rock documentary,” said Music Box Films’ Ed Arentz. “It’s a film that obviously speaks to Twisted’s legion of fans, but will allow a whole new audience to experience the ’70s NYC suburban rock club scene in all its sweaty, grimy, glittery glory, and what it took to become its undisputed masters.”

Twisted Sister recently performed the first of two tribute shows for the band’s late drummer, A.J. Pero.  The show, which also featured Extreme, Skid Row and Great White, was filmed for DVD.

In 2016, the band will embark on their 40th anniversary, Forty and F*** It. It will be their final tour.
