Roger Taylor may be a member of one of the most legendary bands of all time, but he isn’t above a bit of a challenge. The 72-year-old Queen drummer accepted an invitation from 11-year-old prodigy and social media star Nandi Bushell to take part in a drum battle posted on her social media channels this week.
Bushell, who has 345,000 subscribers on YouTube and 850,000 followers on Instagram, previously took on the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and subsequently joined the Foo Fighters on stage at The Forum in L.A. earlier this year.
But Bushell isn’t just out to show up the seasoned rock stars – she admits in the introduction to her video with Taylor that she is a huge fan of Queen and also “of Mr. Taylor’s playing”.
In the video of their drum-off, Taylor eventually concedes to the 11-year-old saying “I’m done, I give up!” But the veteran drummer also shows he’s a good sport as the two go on to jam together on the Queen hit “We Are the Champions”.
