Listen: Pearl Jam Announces 12 Holiday Singles and Summer Tour

After a relatively quiet 2019, Pearl Jam has decided to kick off the final month of the year with exciting news- announcing not only a 2020 European tour but also that their fan club holiday singles will be released to streaming services.

Under the banner 12 days of Pearl Jam, the band will be rolling out one song at a time, beginning December 2, 2019, with the release of their cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas.” The festivities continue today with the second song in the collection, “Don’t Believe in Christmas.” Pearl Jam hasn’t revealed which songs come next, but each day fans can check out the new installment on streaming services like Apple Music, Amazon, and Spotify. The songs will also be compiled into a special holiday playlist.

This year was the first in Pearl Jam’s history that the band did not perform any shows together – though frontman Eddie Vedder did play several solo gigs. Yesterday, however, they announced that they will be hitting the road again in 2020 for a European summer tour. The trek will launch on June 23, 2020, in Frankfurt, Germany and will wrap up July 22, 2020, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. No word yet on whether or not the tour will extend to North America. This is also the longest that Pearl Jam has gone without releasing a new album. Their last LP, Lightning Bolt came out in 2013 and while the band has confirmed that they are working on new material, there has been no hint of a release date. ‘We’ve been busy toiling in the studio on and off for seven years,” guitarist Mike McCready told Rolling Stone in November.“We’re working at our own pace, and doing some music right now, and it’s cool and different and I’m excited about it. But we’re not finished with anything yet. So I wish I had an answer for you, but know that we are recording right now. We’re excited to be playing together again.”
