Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend, December 12th. The performance, announced by SNL on Instagram this week, marks The Boss’ fourth appearance on the show.
While we don’t know yet what songs Springsteen will be performing, we expect to hear tracks from the E Street Band’s most recent album, Letter to You, which was released in October.
Springsteen has been known to perform his version of the holiday classic “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” around this time of year, but as one commenter on Instagram pointed out, that’s unlikely to happen this weekend. Springsteen and his band performed the holiday cover on SNL back in December of 2015. The festive performance featured a surprise appearance by Paul McCartney on sleigh bells and a hesitant Tina Fey sharing the Boss’ mic.
Hosting the show this weekend is actor Timothee Chalamet, a first-time Saturday Night Live host who was nominated for an Oscar in 2017 for his role in the film Call Me by Your Name.
