Chicago, the legendary “rock band with horns,” has announced a North American summer tour with Rick Springfield.
Kicking off on June 12, 2020, in Concord, CA, the co-headlining trek will visit 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up on August 1, 2020, in Rosemont, Illinois.
Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday, December 6th at 10 am local time at LiveNation.com.
Chicago, which was founded in 1967, currently features three active original members: trombonist James Pankow, trumpeter Lee Loughnane, and keyboardist-singer Robert Lamm; co-founding woodwind player Walter Parazaider retired from active touring but remains part of the lineup.
However, in 2018 Lamm said there’s a “possibility” that Chicago could eventually carry on without any of their original members. “I think there’s a feeling that instead of being just Chicago it’d be like the Chicago little symphony if you will. Players go in, and players go out.”
