American Utopia brings together a diverse ensemble of 11 musical artists from around the globe, who share the spotlight with Byrne. The group performs versions of both his solo songs and Talking Heads material in a uniquely choreographed presentation.

Byrne kicked off the world tour of American Utopia in March of 2018, shortly after releasing his album of the same name. NME said that it “may just be the best live show of all-time”.

“Because of how theatrical the show is, others started telling me ‘this needs to go to Broadway,’” Byrne said in a statement, announcing the Broadway residency. “Parked in a beautiful Broadway theatre we can perfect the sound, the lights, the movement. I thought to myself that this new context might be good – it might bring out the narrative arc a little bit more, to make it just a little more explicit.”

Ticket information can be found on the American Utopia on Broadway website.

A pre-Broadway engagement will run September 11th through 29th at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston.
