Dickey Betts, known best as a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, has canceled three upcoming solo dates following a mild stroke.
“Yesterday, after describing to his physicians certain post-stroke repercussions, he was strongly advised to give himself more time to recuperate,” reads a statement on the Grammy-winning guitarist’s website. “Doctors have assured Betts that after three to five weeks he will be 100 percent recovered and can resume his touring schedule,.”
The canceled shows include August 28th in Syracuse, NY, August 30th in Wallingford, CT and August 31st in Hampton Beach, NH.
Although Betts is apparently working to reschedule the dates in Wallingford and Hampton Beach, revised dates have not yet been announced.
Betts’ tour is expected to resume November 1st with dates in August, GA and Pompano Beach, FL.
