Duran Duran bassist John Taylor tested positive for COVID-19, the 59-year old has revealed. In a statement on the group’s official Facebook page, Tayor says he received his positive diagnosis nearly three weeks ago and after suffering only mild symptoms at first, ended up with what he says he “would describe as a ‘Turbo-Charged Flu’.

“I am speaking out in answer to the enormous amount of fear being generated by the pandemic,” he explained in the statement posted Sunday, “some of it entirely justified, and my heart goes out to everyone who has had to deal with real loss and pain.”

On a more positive note, Taylor continued “I want to let you know that it isn’t always a killer, and we can and will beat this thing.”
