It was a brain aneurysm that put Joni Mitchell in hospital last month, sources close to Billboard say.
The Grammy winning singer and songwriter was found unconscious in her home and admitted to hospital March 31st and what followed was series of conflicting reports as to her condition. Despite the rumor that she had gone into a coma, a statement on Mitchell’s website claimed the 71-year-old was awake and alert. No additional information was released on the cause or symptoms of her condition.
Now, Billboard reports the cause to have been a brain aneurysm and that she has been moved to a rehab facility. Showbiz 411 claims that speech is difficult for the singer but she is communicating.
Earlier this month Mitchell’s longtime friend, Leslie Morris was given authority to make Joni’s care decisions in the absence of 24-hour doctor care.
