Pat Benatar has released a new single titled “Dancing Through The Wreckage,” a powerful ballad she wrote alongside Linda Perry and Neil Giraldo.
The song appears in the Lysa Heslov-directed documentary, Served Like A Girl. The film reveals the complexity of homeless female veterans’ lives and identities through a spectacle like no other, the Ms. Veteran America competition.
Benatar’s “Dancing Through The Wreckage” is also featured on the film’s soundtrack, released by Perry’s imprint label, We Are Hear, along with music from P!nk, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and more.
All proceeds from the soundtrack and the “Dancing Through The Wreckage” single will go directly to Final Salute, a charity that creates infrastructure and support for female veterans.

Meanwhile, Pat Benatar and husband of 35 years Neil Giraldo, are currently wrapping up a their run of tour dates with Toto. Although Benatar has toured extensively in the last decade and released several live and compilation albums, her most recent studio album of new music was 2003’s Go.
