Pete Townshend has released a brand new single and video. Hear “Can’t Outrun The Truth” now in the player below.
The video for “Can’t Outrun The Truth” features Townshend performing acoustic guitar, lap steel and violin, interspersed with scenes of dancer Seirian Griffiths portraying a young man during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.
The track was composed and producer by Rachel Fuller (under the pen name Charlie Pepper). Lyrically, it explores the emotional issues of isolation that much of the world faced during the early months of the pandemic.
To help raise money during the 2023 Teenage Cancer Trust week at the Royal Albert Hall, Townshend has signed 200 special 12″ vinyl singles, available exclusively at the Teenage Cancer Trust shows this week. Procceds from the signed vinyl, as well as a portion of proceeds from digital downloads, will go towards Teenage Cancer Trust.
