Watch Robert Plant’s New Animated Lyric Video for “New World”

“Every day our senses are assaulted by the ridiculous,” reads a post on Robert Plant‘s official Facebook page. “It’s not so long ago that today’s plots and wrangles between nation governments would seem too far-fetched to inspire a Hollywood blockbuster. The perversions and struggles leave a shadow over the spirit of the people and the land. It’s not an original sin. Every era bears the burden of chaos and warmongering. Time immemorial.”

The post accompanies Plant’s new animated lyric video for “New World”, a track featured on his most recent solo album, Carry Fire. Plant describes the tune as “a comment on a recent history of conquest and submission.”

The video for “New World” was created with artwork by Shepard Fairey, Aaron Huey and Ernesto Yerena.

“They are artists of great conscience and sensitivity,” says Plant. “I’m most grateful.”

A link to HonorEarth.org also accompanied the Facebook post. Honor the Earth’s mission is “to create awareness and support for Native environmental issues and to develop needed financial and political resources for the survival of sustainable Native communities.”
