Oscar Award winning actor William Hurt is set to portray Gregg Allman in the upcoming biopic Midnight Rider, Variety reports.
The film, which is based on Allman’s biography, My Cross to Bear
All American Rejects singer Tyson Ritter is set to play a younger Allman, while Wyatt Russell will play Duane Allman.
In related news, The Allman Brothers Band is celebrating their 45th Anniversary this year and will return to New York’s Beacon Theatre for a ten-show residency in March.
