Duran Duran to Receive ASCAP Golden Note Award

Duran Duran will be honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers at the 2016 ASCAP Awards next month, it has been revealed.

The band will receive the Golden Note Award, which honors songwriters, composers and artists who have “achieved extraordinary career milestones.”  In a statement, ASCAP president Paul Williams said the band “revolutionized popular music,” calling them “pioneers of the synthpop and new wave movement.”

Duran Duran will be presented with the award on November 10th at One Embankment in London. Past recipients include Elton John, George Michael and Stevie Wonder.
