Ringo Starr Announces 2020 Tour

Ringo Starr and his All Starr band are heading back out on the road in 2020.

The drummer announced a 15 city, 20 concert tour launching on May 29th at the Casino Rama in Ontario and finishing up on June 28th at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida.

The tour will feature a number of different opening acts including the Americana group the Avett Brothers for three shows, July 9-11 and former All Starr Band member Edgar Winter who will open the June 26 and June 28 shows. You can see a complete list of tour dates below.

Once again Starr will be hitting the road with the same stellar lineup he’s used since 2017 which includes Toto’s Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, former Santana and Journey keyboardist Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette, and Hamish Stuart.

Earlier this year the former Beatle celebrated the 30th anniversary of the All Starr band with a special concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles where many former bandmates joined him on stage for the aptly chosen encore of “With a Little Help from My Friends.” While the group has seen quite a few lineup changes since the first tour in 1989, the criteria for membership has remained the same – each All Starr must have at least three hit songs of their own and be capable of backing Starr on his own solo catalog and the Beatles classics. Watch the fan-filmed footage below.

Starr also recently released his 20th solo album, titled What’s My Name. The record features what may be the closest thing to a Beatles reunion that fans will ever experience – a cover of the John Lennon penned song “Grow Old With Me” that pairs Starr on lead vocals with Paul McCartney on bass and backing vocals accompanied by a string part (arranged by producer Jack Douglas) that references George Harrison’s classic tune “Here Comes the Sun.” Click here to listen.
