With all the talk these days about over inflated ticket prices and fans being taken advantage of by some promoters and greedy acts, I’d like to say congrats to Warren Haynes and his management and crew for doing it right.
The Beacon was packed last night and each seat was $50.00. No expensive front row seating packages, not even tiered pricing–just one big happy family that all got in for fifty bucks each.
And what do you get for fifty bucks? How’s about two long sets! The second set which started off acoustic was truly magical. Also, as a bonus, guest artist William Bell came out and he and Warren sang William’s most famous “Born Under A Bad Sign”!! It smoked! Then they did William’s “Every Day Will Be Like A Holiday” which is on Warren’s new album.
And let’s talk merch. How’s about verrrrrrry affordable! I bought a beautifully detailed 10 inch model of a red Gibson ES-345 with a sturdy little replica guitar stand for only $30.00! And all the T’s, sweatshirts, and hats were reasonable as well.
As a fan I felt like Warren and company wanted to embrace me, take care of me, and make it easy to feel a real part of the Tribe.
One big reason that Warren’s fan base keeps growing and growing–and everyone is smiling.
I sure am.
