Two men have been arrested by Seattle police after defacing a statue of Jimi Hendrix Wednesday nigh in the city’s Capitol Hill area – a densely populated residential district and one of its most prominent nightlight and entertainment areas.
It didn’t take long for police to find the suspects – they used the city’s Metro transit system to get away after covering the statue in blue spray paint, then continued their spree by spraying the bus as they got off. The driver took their photograph and alerted authorities, as the two suspects continued to spray buildings as they walked away, leaving a trail of blue paint as they went.
The two men, 20 and 21, were found shortly thereafter, with blue paint still on their hands and clothes.
The statue of Seattle’s hometown hero has since been cleaned up.
